Headed by Chris McDonald of Eagan High school, one of the most successful Extemp Coaches in the nation, and joined by some of the best former extempers and National Champions, the Extemp staff at FFI helps students, regardless of entering age or ability level, emerge from camp as formidable competitors.  Twice daily content lectures are followed by fully critiqued practice speeches and small labs focusing on analysis, as well as skills.  Extemp structure and theory are taught but one of the hallmarks that sets FFI apart from other camps is that our extempers  are coached to find their individual style; we do not encourage the automatic, robotic “one way of speaking” that distinguishes some other camps.  From the basics to the advanced subtleties, FFI extempers get content and skills instruction.  And the proof is in the results- FFI extempers of all ability levels have been dominant at home and on the national circuit.    As we move to electronic files, manipulation of data, is crucial to success.  Don’t be left out- study with the best!
